Take your eyewear to infinity and beyond! Your galactic cruise director Annette has been in the optical industry for 40 years.  She began as a surgical assistant doing ophthalmic photography (i.e. the inside of the human eye). With her extensive experience in ophthalmic surgery, diseases of the eye and the mechanics and aesthetics of vision aids, Annette is able to sort through even the most complicated refractive issues.  Employing all her skills, she opened her first business venture called These Eyes back in 1997 and changed the optical universe forever. 

A year later Annette moved to Wicker Park with Chicago’s first 100% female-owned fine opticianry shop and local business.  Within months, her first national press feature (Home&Away magazine, 1997) announced to Chicago that this bitch is for REAL—and it was a rude awakening for the smug, stuffy incestuous (and needless to say, male dominated) den of debauchery that was Chicago optical retail in the mid 1990s.  Instead of adopting the Oak Street markup or the Lincoln Park “it’s all about the negative space” anti-fashion darkwave, Eye Want went in a totally different direction, providing its customers with real choices rather than an illusion of choice manufactured by French-Italian conglomerates!
